JUST BECAUSE THEY NEED IT DOESN'T MEAN THEY'LL WANT IT Strategies for Long-Term Oral Health & Patient Motivation |
4 CEU's Live Course: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM |
Tuition: $79 3 Sites! |
|
How do you motivate your patients to prevent disease or to improve their oral health? This is one of the most regularly challenging issues facing dental professionals. Risk assessment, including CAMBRA, and motivational communication are critical elements on which you can develop a customized treatment plan for your patients. Patient adherence dramatically impacts the prevention of dental diseases, as well as the long-term success of therapeutic, restorative and cosmetic procedures. Research shows that true motivation comes from within. You will be introduced to a communication method known as Motivational Interviewing (MI). MI has been shown to elicit "change talk" directly from your patients. It is effective in counseling and is presently being utilized successfully in healthcare and dentistry. This interactive course allows the course participant to match reality with the science, psychology and solutions of patient compliance. New products will be introduced such as: diagnostic tools, remineralization therapies and interdental cleaning. Be prepared to share your "must haves" with your colleagues to gain a wealth of practical information. |
